The exhibition includes discoveries from ancient times to the present, including fossilised fragments of animals that lived on Tatarstan’s territory more than 15 thousand years ago, as well as fragments of monumental Christian architecture lost in the 1930s.
The exhibition displays unique objects from archaeological excavations conducted over the years on the republic’s landmark monuments, which are archaeological treasures of Tatarstan. The exhibition’s chronology spans from the Stone Age (15–9 thousand years ago) to modern archaeology (early 20th century), with sections and topics focusing on key events and phenomena in the Tatarstan’s ancient, mediaeval, and modern history, as well as the Volga region and Eastern Europe in general.
The exhibition is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the A.H. Khalikov Institute of Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan. The partners of this exhibition project are the Kazan Kremlin Museum-Reserve, the Bolgar State Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve, and the State Historical, Architectural, and Art Museum and Heritage Site of the Sviyazhsk Town-Island, the Museum of Archaeology of the A.H.
