DESCRIPTION OF EXHIBITION

The exhibition displays more than 90 hunting weapon models, allowing you to learn about their development and production in Russia and abroad from the 17th to 21st centuries.

Tula gunsmiths are given special attention, as they played an important role in the development of domestic hunting weapons. The flintlock musket, made during Empress Elizabeth I’s reign, demonstrates that since the 30s of the 18th century, not only military but also civilian weapons have been manufactured in Russia’s armoury capital.

The legendary Tula Arms Factory and the famous Central Design and Research Bureau of Sports and Hunting Weapons, established under it in 1946, produce a diverse range of products, from small-calibre carbines to smoothbore rifles, meeting the needs of every hunter.

Tula rifles from the second half of the 20th century, created to commemorate anniversaries in Russian history or significant events in Russian political life, will not disappoint. They are rightfully regarded as decorative and applied art masterpieces due to their highly artistic decoration.

Along with Tula, a variety of hunting products from enterprises of Izhevsk and Vyatskiye Polyany receive special attention. Each Russian sample demonstrates that domestic gunsmiths have always followed global trends in the development of hunting weapons.
