Description of Exhibition

The exhibition features unique artefacts from the collections of the Central Museum of the Russian Armed Forces (Ministry of Defence of Russia) and the Kazan Kremlin Museum-Reserve. This exhibition commemorates the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

For the first time in Kazan, this exhibition presents personal belongings, uniforms, and weapons that once belonged to prominent military leaders of the Great Patriotic War: I.S. Konev, F.I. Tolbukhin, V.I. Chuikov, N.F. Vatutin, I.D. Chernyakhovsky and others.

Visitors can view domestic firearms and edged weapons alongside captured examples, including: a Degtyaryov tank machine gun, a TT pistol, a 1931 Walther pistol, and a 1927-pattern cavalry shashka.

Among the exhibition’s highlights are the great coat of Kliment Voroshilov – one of the first Marshals of the Soviet Union (1935) – and personal effects of Pavel Rybalko, Marshal of Armoured Forces (1945), who headed the Intelligence Department at the Kazan Higher Military Staff College from 1941 to 1942.

The exhibition is further enriched with wartime and post-war posters depicting both the arduous daily struggles and glorious victories of the Soviet people.
