Exhibition Halls of Prisutstvennye MestaAdmission ticket | free of charge |
The exhibition will feature scale models and sketches for productions of plays by Chekhov and Molière, operas by Puccini, Verdi, Shostakovich and Rimsky-Korsakov, spatial explorations of Russian drama and Ancient Greek tragedy, as well as an object installation inspired by the medieval epic The Nibelungenlied – all brought to Kazan by students, who are stage designers from the Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Art Theatre School-Studio.
In addition to classic set models, exhibition visitors will view animated production reels, meet the creators, attend curator-led tours, and discover how a simple stack of paper, a drop of glue, and a spark of imagination can conjure an entire vibrant theatrical production to life!
The theatre artist or stage designer embodies a singular and highly specialised profession – one that synthesises multiple disciplines within the visual arts. This exhibition at the Kazan Kremlin’s Prisutstvennye Mesta (Government Offices) offers a rare glimpse behind the curtain – revealing the creative processes of aspiring theatre artists passionate about stagecraft, three-dimensional forms, and the very essence of theatre.
