Cannon Yard MuseumThe museum lesson combines a historical excursion into the past of foundry art with practical work using low-melting metal. In the first, theoretical, part, participants learn about the history of foundry production: from the extraction of materials to the making of preparatory moulds and the casting process. Particular attention is given to the regional context — the activity of the Cannon Yard of the Kazan Kremlin in the 18th century. A creative workshop under the guidance of a foundry master is the logical continuation of the lesson. Participants master basic tin casting techniques. Each participant creates their own tin item — the barrel of a field artillery cannon of the 18th–19th centuries — and also assembles a wooden carriage by fastening its individual parts. The master-class result can serve as an interior decoration, a souvenir or a historically styled item.
