The Cannon Yard Museum is a structural unit of the Kazan Kremlin Museum‑Reserve, located in the building that housed the foundry workshop of the Artillery Yard in the 18th century.
The centrepiece of the museum’s display is a foundry pit discovered during restoration work in the late 1990s. The foundry pit retains brickwork dating from the second half of the 18th century and presents a reconstruction of the main stages of making a clay mould for casting cannons, together with vertical casting moulds. The museum regularly offers guided tours, themed tours, masterclasses, quests, quizzes and other cultural and educational programmes designed for all age groups.
