About the Museum

The Museum of the History of the Annunciation Cathedral is a structural unit of the Kazan Kremlin Museum‑Reserve, located in the crypt of the Annunciation Cathedral. It is one of the few museums in the world situated within an active church.

The museum’s display presents items, works of art and documents that introduce the most vivid pages of the history of the Annunciation Cathedral, the oldest monument of Orthodox culture and architecture in Kazan, from the mid‑16th century to the present day.

The museum regularly offers guided tours, themed tours, masterclasses, quests, quizzes and other cultural and educational programmes designed for all age groups.
