The Museum of the History of the Tatar People and the Republic of Tatarstan is a structural unit of the Kazan Kremlin Museum‑Reserve, located in the building of the former Palace Church, in the oldest part of the Kazan Kremlin.
The museum is devoted to the states that form part of the historical past of the Tatar people and their ancestors, as well as to the period of the TASSR and the present‑day Republic of Tatarstan. The display features a reconstruction of the throne of the Kazan khans, Golden Horde coins, examples of 15th–16th‑century writing in Arabic script, a fragment of a 16th‑century quiver bearing a winged serpent, state awards of the TASSR, and other exhibits.
The museum regularly offers guided tours, themed tours, masterclasses, quests, quizzes and other cultural and educational programmes designed for all age groups.
